The RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) Directive provides for strict restrictions on the use of hazardous materials and substances such as lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium VI, polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) in the production of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE), the conformity of which is attested by the affixing of the CE marking. The aim is to contribute to the protection of human health and the environment respect, including the environmentally sound recovery and disposal of EEE waste.
